Committed to Boskoop and its heritage
As a tree nursery, we feel strongly connected to Boskoop and the rich history of the sector. That is why Veelenturf Boomkwekerijen is a Friend and sponsor of the Boskoop Tree Nursery Museum. With our financial contribution, we support the museum in its mission to document, preserve, and showcase the history of the tree nursery sector for future generations. In doing so, we contribute to preserving the heritage of a region that is known worldwide as the cradle of tree nursery cultivation.
Social involvement
Veelenturf Boomkwekerijen supports care center FloraVita in Boskoop as a Friend of FloraVita. This residential facility provides elderly people who can no longer live independently with a safe and pleasant living environment. Through our annual contribution, we aim to support the well-being of elderly residents in Boskoop.
Responsible energy use
We actively take steps to reduce our ecological footprint. A key part of this is our use of solar energy. More than 50 solar panels have been installed on our company buildings. This allows us to generate a large portion of our energy sustainably and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. In this way, we contribute to energy savings and more sustainable operations.
Responsible crop protection
In keeping our crops healthy and vital, we carefully evaluate the methods we use. Wherever possible, Veelenturf Boomkwekerijen applies biological crop protection. For example, we use natural predators such as mites to control aphids. In this way, we work towards resilient cultivation with respect for nature and the environment.
Plastic recycling
We also take responsibility when it comes to waste and raw materials. Residual plastic pots and other packaging materials are carefully collected within our company and sent for recycling. These materials are processed into new raw materials that can be reused, including in the production of new pots. In this way, we contribute to reducing waste and promoting reuse.
